There is going to be no better timing than winter 2021/2022 or summer 2022 with all the pent up demand right now to go see shows. Though that also means there will be stiff competition on the supply side, which means even more reason to do something unique and unexpected to draw the crowds away from every other damn act that will be touring.
Hopefully those guys all realize they probably have one more shot at a reunion tour before father time inevitably starts catching up.
I always wonder: how much money has been waved in the faces of some of these bands? It worked (in a sense) with the classic line-up of Dokken. How much is just enough to get them back together for a one-off show or a short tour? And, more to the point, who is going to offer that sort of money these days?
Alas, I also think your timeline is probably correct. A feast of riches after several seasons of scarcity. But the pent-up demand will be huge. Huge, I say!
