Stephen Pearcy Explains Cancer Battle

RATT frontman Stephen Pearcy has liver cancer. It's a battle he's been fighting for three years now. He just talked about the diagnosis in a recent interview, which you can see below.

The good news is that Pearcy says he is doing fine now. His cancer was found through a blood test. Remember to get your regular check-ups. A routine blood draw could very well save your life.

May The Metal Godz Bless Stephen Pearcy.

Please, can we not see another one of our heroes go?

I know it’s a ridiculous thing to say and there are people leaving us every second of the day, but every time a Rockstar dies, it seems like Rock & Roll as we know it gets a little smaller.

I heard RATT might replace Crüe on The Stadium Tour. As much as I love RATT, I would hate to see that happen.

It would be great to see them get back together with the line-up which included Pearcy, DiMartini, Croucier, Blotzer and Cavazo, however.

Here’s to Pearcy making a full and permanent recovery.

Met Pearcy at a Guitar Center. He played 3 songs. I was dead center. Granted there was only 10-15 people watching. He was a very cool Dude.

Where did you hear that rumor, Metalboy!? Just curious. Seems there are a lot of rumors about Ratt right now. Of course, the missing piece in the rumor puzzle is when or if DeMartini would consider coming back into the pack. And, as an aside, Pearcy should stop slagging on the other guys who helped the band in the lean and not so lean years. Infestation was a miracle. Celebrate it for what it was . . .and for who was in the band at the time and on the road promoting it!!!

Recently, Old Leatherface has seemed a bit more reflective, a bit more into owning his part in the band's history of problems. I wonder if this is the event that led him to that sort of place. Liver cancer is no joke (no cancer is). And facing down your demons, dealing with your health, and considering your past while wondering about your future can do a lot to make you adjust your perspective.

I met Pearcy (sorta') years ago. He was as sleazy and aloof as I expected him to be. I wasn't expecting a picnic lunch and a photo shoot. So cool that you got to meet him when he was in a good mood, Jack.
