Los Angeles Pays Respects To Taylor Hawkins

Like the UK version, there was a big Taylor Hawkins tribute concert last night in Los Angeles. Loads of famous musicians came out to show their support - including Nikki Sixx and Tommy Lee, who played some Motley Crue classics. Wolfgang Van Halen shredded some Van Halen hits again and Sebastian Bach was there too.

The show raised money for Music Support and MusiCares.

"Live Wire" Derek Day of Classless Act is singing.

"Home Sweet Home"

Wolfie - "Hot For Teacher"

I am glad they are paying tribute to a fellow who is clearly loved and died too soon as a result of his demons.

I am also glad that they are raising money for two charities that hopefully make some sort of mark in making people's lives (and particularly their mental well-being) better.

I will leave it at that.

RIP Taylor Hawkins.

But acting as if he is some sort of music martyr is disturbing to me & upsets me to be perfectly honest. But that’s just me, I’m sure. Shall I go on about other “more important/influential” ppl whose deaths were basically completely ignored?

Bk: You can speak about important/influential as it relates to music or the gen pop opinion... but I got a feeling this isn't about Taylor Hawkins in that way. More volumes of how Taylor Hawkins became "friends" or professional partners or party pals or whatever it may be to these ROCK STARS and how they just good old fashioned appreciated him as a human being and kind soul.

Taylor had more friends and was cooler than your more important/influential dead rock stars. Wah!!! Deal, upset perfectly honest cry baby. Lol

I second GNR's post. It likely wasn't about the influence or importance; it was about the friendships and the loss (as the tributes prove).

Besides, being disturbed by people celebrating a person's life after they have passed is, in itself, disturbing. Being disturbed about a person? Well, I get that. But a lot of people I don't/didn't like got ticker tape parades (figuratively). And that is down to them liking that person and me, well, not so much. Never been much for speaking ill of the dead, even if I have--plenty of times--spoken ill of those still living, based on _what_ they did, which I suppose relates to your ire (or anger, as you put it). So I sorta' kinda' see your point.

And, granted, you are allowed your upset, Bkallday. No doubt. But I don't think a tribute to him is a signal of endorsement for the whys and hows of his passing (and I am reading that into your post; so if I am wrong, apologies front and center). Another reason I didn't initially want to get into the nitty-gritty of all this. But, well, you all made me.

Crued, your post made me laugh. I guess I need to get over my issues, right?!?!

Now, moving on . . .

Kixchix, you make me laugh. A soccer fan that was ugly crying about me ragging on her good buddy’s fball team, calling me a crybaby, is first class humor. Go eat a bon bon, lay on the couch, and watch real housewives or something. Maybe even sew a dress or some shit? Work it, girl! 🤣🤣🤣

Real question : Are bon bon still a thing ?? I mean I feel dated saying it. Like does anyone say "gimme a bon bon" or "can you please pick up some bon bons ?"

Matter of fact... I bet I could eat a bon bon right now.

GNR, it is obvious. Like all of us, Bkallday has a treasure trove of references. bonbons are just one of them. I mean, obviously, Bkentuckyallday knows what Peg Bundy loved to eat. Have you seen that tattoo he has on that python he calls an arm?!?!

Wait. I noticed the spacing. Perhaps he is just having a spasm, yelling out the name of the best singer from AC/DC. Still, not a bad thing. But I certainly wouldn't want to eat him/that, on a couch or otherwise.

The Crowd: Angus! Angus!

Bkallday: Bon! Bon!
