The Rolling Stones Announce New Album
Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 08:52AM
It's been 18 years since The Rolling Stones released an album of all new material... and now we are getting new music from the legendary band. Hackney Diamonds will debut live tomorrow night on a YouTube livestream with Jimmy Kimmel. Some of the songs will feature late drummer Charlie Watts. A tour is also around the corner, apparently. Gotta say, I'm interested! Livestream details below!

I mean, when was the last time any of you were honestly waiting for a new release from the Rolling Stones to drop? I mean, really waiting for that first single, that first whiff of moth balls and nostalgia?
If I am going to keep punching Aerosmith in the shorts on this site, I have to speak up on this one. And, to be fair, I will answer both questions (one stated and one implied): for Aerosmith, it was _Pump_. I loved _Done with Mirrors_, in spite of its flaws. I thought _Permanent Vacation_ was a step back from the rawk and a step towards . . . well, it turns out it was, even if I didn't know it at the time . . . _Pump_ (which rhymes with chump, hump, and lump). But I still thought they could regain some semblance of that 70s vibe. With The Stones, it was _Steel Wheels_, as I thought that _Dirty Work_ was solid, if in keeping with how legacy bands had to (or thought they had to) sound in the mid-80s. And _SW_ had some fine moments . . . as does their catalog since that time. Ditto Aerosmith.
But, as with _AJFA_ by 'Tallica, I knew that I was going to be a listener and not necessarily an eager one after those releases. And, to be clear, I was never a fanboy for the two former bands like I was for 'Tallica. I was a fan of some of their older stuff. And, I guess, in a sense, that is where my interests still remain.
And look what we got? Stones are still rolling. Aerosmith is saying farewell. And 'Tallica can sell-out two night shows with two different set lists. Just goes to prove my opinion means squat. I guess, as long as you love it, grab it. No one's stopping you. Nor should they.
