Bon Jovi just announced a special Nashville concert event. Basically, it's a vacation around a private concert. The package is available from Runaway Tours (get it?) so expect more of these events in the future.
The vacation is set for June 13th to 15th, so not long from now and tickets go on sale Monday. I hope you have deep pockets, because this event is two grand a person on double occupancy. Don't worry, that includes hotel WiFi!
Happy March! Just a few more days until Spring officially starts. Former Skid Row singer and reality TV star Erik Grönwall covered Bon Jovi awhile back and he did the band justice. "Livin' on a Prayer" is a heavily covered song no doubt, but it's hard to get right and not sound karaoke. I think Grönwall nailed it.
Bon Jovi will release a reissue of Slippery When Wet on February 28. The reissue will be available many formats, including an awesome liquid vinyl. I want that liquid vinyl for sure.
Of course these special reissues are only available in limited quantities and you can get them from the Bon Jovi online store. From the press release:
A number of physical editions of the Slippery When Wet reissue will be available through the artist store, including a limited edition run of the original album on liquid-filled vinyl disc capped at 1,300 copies, a picture disc limited to 1,500 copies, and a run of 500 limited edition cassettes.
I'm standing in line and waiting for my scripts and I start paying attention to the music playing. It sounds oddly like Jon Bon Jovi's voice... but not quite. I kept trying to discern just who or what is playing... and I finally Googled the lyrics. Turns out, I was listening to Shinedown's "Daylight." I'm telling you the song went from country, to Bon Jovi to nu metal for me without any context. As soon as I knew I was hearing a Shinedown track, it all made sense, but man, "Daylight" is far from The Sound of Madness.
"Daylight" is from the 2022 album Planet Zero. The song isn't really played on Octane, hence why I wasn't able to place it. Oh well, happy Saturday to all!
Here it is! The new Bon Jovi and Pitbull track "Now or Never." To me it just sounds like "It's My Life" with Pitbull rapping a little and his signature beats but it's catchy and people will probably like it. Also, I am expecting "It's My Life" to chart again because of this, so this collaboration was smart on Bon Jovi's part. What do you think?
Jon Bon Jovi and Pitbull are friends and they've performed together in the past. Now Pitbull, a.k.a. "Mr. Worldwide" will team up with Bon Jovi for "Now Or Never." The remix is coming out November 14, the same day as the Latin Grammy awards. Yes, both Pitbull and Jon Bon Jovi will be performing at that awards show. I am assuming it will be together for the first live performance of this new song, but we'll see.
Genesis Publications will release Bon Jovi Forever - a book celebrating the band's 40 years together. Jon Bon Jovi wrote some of the text too, so that is cool. It looks like this will be a nice coffee-table book. It will be signed, numbered and include a 7" vinyl too.
You can register your interest on the Genesis website to have a chance to buy when sales open. No price or official release date information available yet. This will sell out fast.
