December 2021 New Music Playlist

Not a lot of albums came out this month that really appealed to me. I did pick three tracks that I think you might like to check out, from Devin Townsend, Murder of My Sweet and Volbeat. Let me know what you think.

November 2021 New Music Playlist

I can't believe it is already December. In some respects, the last year has felt very long and in other ways, it has just flown by. Working mostly at home, each day bleeds into the next and yet the seasons still change, plans come and go and now we are at the holiday season once again.

Looking back on November, it was a pretty good month for heavy music. In this month's new music playlist, there are tracks from Bullet For My Valentine, Enuff Z'Nuff, Deep Purple and L.A. Guns. I didn't throw any songs into the playlist, but The Darkness, Black Label Society and Lordi also released new work. I hope you enjoy the curated songs for November. These are tracks I have been enjoying the past few weeks.

September 2021 New Music Playlist

Holy crap! I just happened to look at the notifications in my Amazon Music account and I realized that Steely Dan dropped a new album! It is called Northeast Corridor: Steely Dan Live! This is Steely Dan's first live album in 25 years. It is also the first Steely Dan release that does not feature genius Walter Becker. He died in 2017.

In honor of the new album and my love for the band, the September new music playlist will just be this entire album. Yes, it includes all the hits like "Black Cow," "Aja," and "Peg." You can buy as a stream or get the recording as a double-vinyl (click the image). Listen below:

August New Music Playlist

July didn't get a new music playlist because I was too busy dealing with my broken shoulder, but now we are back with some music that came out during my favorite month of the year. I can't believe it's the last day of August. I always get a little down this time of year because I know the time change and cold weather is just around the corner. That said, September and early October are usually okay weather-wise in southern Ohio. We also have some of the prettiest drives to peep changing leaves in the midwest.

Now to the playlist - the Ice Nine Kills track is a bonus. "Hip To Be Scared" is a single from the band's upcoming October album release. Since the single came out in July and there was no playlist for last month, I decided to share it today. Other artists include Night Ranger, Jack Russell's Great White and George Lynch. Enjoy!
