November 2021 New Music Playlist

I can't believe it is already December. In some respects, the last year has felt very long and in other ways, it has just flown by. Working mostly at home, each day bleeds into the next and yet the seasons still change, plans come and go and now we are at the holiday season once again.

Looking back on November, it was a pretty good month for heavy music. In this month's new music playlist, there are tracks from Bullet For My Valentine, Enuff Z'Nuff, Deep Purple and L.A. Guns. I didn't throw any songs into the playlist, but The Darkness, Black Label Society and Lordi also released new work. I hope you enjoy the curated songs for November. These are tracks I have been enjoying the past few weeks.

Deep Purple, to my mind, are aging gracefully. The covers album is, well, a covers album. But they do enough justice by the songs to make them work. And their last album was great.

Gillan has been priceless in their recent videos. He clearly knows the writing is on the wall. Is he turning to crime? No. He is milking his luck for every last dime it is worth, and winking at those of us who might say: "You got me! Good on you!!!"

Are they as great as they were live? No. But who thought they would be? Do they bring it, if you temper your expectations and take a good, hard, look at yourself? Most certainly.

Can't speak to the rest of the playlist, Allyson. I take my recommendations from my woman in Tokyo. But the last thing she said to me was odd: "I thank you Mr. Miracle, I won't get trashed again." That was a long way to go to say this . . . Iommi, get those original tapes and remaster _Born Again_!!!
